An experimental study on resuspension, thermostability and migration phenomenon of nanoparticles in pool boiling

Nanoparticles have proven to be effective in sensible and latent heat exchanges alike. Applications of nanoparticles phase change processes are associated with migration resuspension upon which our existing knowledge is very limited. This work experimentally investigates the ratio, stability during change. Knowledge on ratio essential gauge thermal lubricative enhancements subsequent processes. Al2O3/Water & CuO/Water nanofluids were prepared four mass fractions (0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4) using ultrasonic agitation technique. Nanofluids fraction higher than 0.5% displayed poor over time also, agglomeration sedimentation pronounced inevitable. Nanofluid destabilises agglomerates rapidly at temperatures closer saturation temperature. Resuspension agglomerated chunks observed nucleate boiling where test fluid became extremely nonhomogeneous. Migration was found commensurate volume CuO/water nanofluid exhibited 23% lesser Al2O3/water nanofluid. Maximum 17.8% for 0.05 wt%. when molecular dimensions base similar magnitudes. It inadvisable involve systems.
